1595 Broadway is a newly constructed building in the neighborhood of Bushwick, Brooklyn. The newly constructed mixed-use seven-story building is seeking to receive a tax exemption through the 421a Tax Incentive program of the New York City Department of Housing and Preservation and Development. Therefore, the building is set to offer 30% of its units to affordable housing. Designed by Diego B Aguilera Architects for local developer Bawbeh United, of Williamsburg the building’s location is between Halsey Street and Thomas Boyland Street. Permit applications for this project were filed in September 2017, as reported by YIMBY.
1595 Broadway has set aside ten units to the affordable housing lottery. The affordable housing units range from one studio apartment and nine one-bedroom apartments. The rent range for the affordable rentals will be $1,689 for the studio and $1,989 for the one-bedroom apartments. Qualifying applicants must show they earn a total of 130 percent of the area median income, households of one to three people are welcome to apply. 1595 Broadway offer’s its residents a wide range of amenities such as a rooftop terrace, gym, game room, and an on-site laundry room. Closely located to major transportation lines like subway lines J and Z 1595 Broadways calls for an easy commute in and out of the neighborhood.
