The newly constructed mixed-use seven-story building is seeking to receive a tax exemption through the 421a Tax Incentive program of the New York City Department of Housing and Preservation and Development. Therefore, the building is set to offer 30% of its units to affordable housing. Designed by Diego B Aguilera Architects for local developer Bawbeh United, of Williamsburg the building’s location is between Halsey Street and Thomas Boyland Street. 1595 Broadway has set aside ten units to the affordable housing lottery. The affordable housing units range from one studio apartment and nine one-bedroom apartments. The rent range for the affordable rentals will be $1,689 for the studio and $1,989 for the one-bedroom apartments.
