Owner Yidel Hirsch of Brooklyn based Unique Developers filed for applications on a four-story residential building at 196 Freeman reports the New York YIMBY back in July of 2015. 196 Freeman Street will be seeking the 421a tax abatement, therefore the building has assigned 3 of its units to the New York City’s Affordable Housing Lottery.

The affordable housing rentals will be a range of one one-bedroom unit and two two-bedroom units with the asking rent of $2,544 per month for the one-bedroom unit and $3,050 per month for the two-bedroom unit. Applicants earning between $87,223 and $135,590 annually are welcome to apply through May 6th, 2019.

Household’s and individuals who meet the income and household requirements listed in the chart above are welcome to apply. Qualifying applicants will be required to meet additional criteria. Applicants who live in New York City will receive a general preference for the units.
