Massive New Affordable Housing Lottery is Now Open in South Bronx

The highly anticipated new construction at 443 East 162nd Street in Melrose, Bronx will is introducing a mix of affordable housing, retail stores, outdoor recreational spaces and a new music hall to South Bronx. This massive new building designed by Danois Architects will rise 12-stories over the ground and hold a total of 304 units. Developers BFC Partners and the Women’s Housing and Economic Development Corporation are seeking the 421a tax abatement. Therefore, 443 East 162nd Street will offer 30% of its units to New York’s Affordable Housing Lottery.

443 East 162nd Street has assigned 288 units to affordable housing rentals. The affordable housing units will have a wide range of layouts, starting with studios, one-bedrooms, two-bedrooms, and three-bedroom apartments. Applicants earning as low are 30% of the area’s median income will be eligible for the affordable housing lottery. Applicants are welcome to apply through June 14th, 2019

443 East 162nd Street will offer its residents a wide variety of luxury amenities such as 14 laundry room, 4 elevators, 3 community rooms, 2 outdoor spaces and more.

Individuals and household who meet the income and household size requirements listed in the chart above are all welcome to apply. Qualified applicants will be required to meet additional criteria. Applicants who live in New York City will be shown a general preference for the apartments.
