The Real Deal report permits for a 131,316 square feet residential building on 1912 First Avenue in East Harlem were filed back in September of 2016. The massive new construction is set to rise 16-stories above the ground and hold just over 150 apartments. Developed by SKA Marin, through the Mix & Match Program of the New York City Housing Development and Corporation and the New York City Department of Housing Preservation and Development. Therefore, 1912 First Avenue is offering 144 units to New York City’s Affordable Housing Lottery.
1912 First Avenue, also knows as The Gilbert on First is offering 144 mixed-income affordable housing units, applicants can apply through June 17, 2019. The affordable housing units will range from studios to three-bedroom apartments. The rent range for the apartments will be between $328 a month for a studio and $3,009 for a three-bedroom. Qualifying applicants earning between $13,200 and $199,650 annually are all welcome to apply.
1912 First Avenue will offer its residents a wide range of amenities such as an on-site resident super, card-operated laundry, bike storage, outdoor terraces and, a community room. Conveniently located near major transportation lines like 4 & 6 subway lines, 1912 First Avenue calls for an easy commute all around the city.
Individuals and households who meet the income and household size requirements in the chart listed above may apply. Qualifying Applicants will be required to meet an additional selection of criteria. Applicants who live in New York City will receive a general preference for the apartments. a percentage of units will be set aside for applicants with disabilities.
